Barbo History

Welcome to the homepage of the Bird Creek Barbarians Rugby Football Club.  The Bird Creek Barbarians or 'Barbos" are a competitive men's club in Anchorage, Alaska with 30+ years of history as Anchorage's premiere social rugby club.  The Bird Creek Barbarians are long standing members of the Alaska Rugby Union.  Our season runs from mid-May to mid-August, with social events and fundraisers throughout the year.  Practices begin in late April with the season commencing the third week of May.  Numerous tournaments are held throughout the season.  If you are interested in playing rugby in Alaska, or if you are a side looking for a tour you will never forget, contact us at barbarian@birdcreekrfc.com.  The Bird Creek Barbarians accept players of all ages and skill levels and encourage new players to come give the game a try, we promise you will be hooked.  Summer rugby in Alaska is exceptional; there are not too many places where a rugby match gets interrupted by a Moose and her calf walking onto the pitch.
